I just thought I'd write a quick post to say that there will probably be about 40 people at the 60th, so take that into consideration for whatever you're bringing

Puppet Making Party?

I bought materials for my puppet last week - I feel so accomplished!  Does anyone want to have a puppet making party before the big event?

jobs

Does anyone want to volunteer to...
-coordinate meals? (we have access to grills)
-plan some activities?
-plan how this puppet thing is going to work?
-do the t-shirts?
-anything else that someone thinks needs to be done?

sock puppets

We'll probably end up bringing our stash of mismatched socks and some decorating supplies (everyone is encouraged to do the same) so that whoever didn't get a chance to make a puppet before can make one there. From what I've heard, Gangang is the only one who has started her puppets so far (correct me if I'm wrong about that).

Tigey

When I was young, I was attached to a stuffed animal named Tigey. I took Tigey to the zoo once to show him the real tigers. He and his wife, Skinny Kitty, and thier son, Tiny Teddy went on many adventures that were chronicalled in books Soren and I wrote. Soren was jealous of my Tigey and Skinny Kitty, so he got his own. Nanny made the original Skinny Kitty for me out of an old t-shirt. Lona made Soren's for him, and I found an organic cotton one that I bought for Linnea before she was born. Innes crocheted Tiny Teddy. Soren's Tigey got lost out the window of our car when his leash broke on the Beltway. My Tiny Teddy fell down a deep narrow hole when his leash broke. After that we stopped putting our stuffed animals on leashes. Because I was so fond of Tigey and Tigers, Gangang made me this handsome sock puppet.

so, i'm thinking that

maybe i should just bring a rag doll and pretend its a puppet?

ooh actually, that gives me an idea!

my friend karen suggested i turn the starter into my puppet!
